Al Inshirah Foundation

Al Inshirah Foundation is a Muslim community charity in Woking, Surrey. It runs a weekly gathering, events through the year, and programmes including the Green Meadows Madrasa, a wrestling club, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a Qur’an academy. It needed one place to explain all of that, and a trustworthy way to accept donations online.

I built it voluntarily, at no charge.

Families looking for classes, people coming to events, and donors, many of whom are more comfortable in a language other than English. The site is available in English, Arabic, Urdu, Bangla and Russian, with right-to-left layouts for Arabic and Urdu and the right fonts and numerals for each language.

• Pages for each programme, the team, and the foundation’s policies on privacy, refunds, safeguarding and complaints.
• An events list that sorts itself into upcoming and past, with recurring events pinned to the top.
• Online donations with preset or custom amounts, given once or on a regular schedule, with an optional contribution towards transaction costs.
• Gift Aid, so eligible donations are worth more to the foundation.
• PDF receipts, emailed automatically.
• A donor portal where donors can see their history, download receipts and manage regular gifts.

From a donor’s side, giving takes a minute:

1. Choose an amount, and whether to give once or regularly.
2. Add Gift Aid in the same step, if they’re eligible.
3. Pay by card on a secure checkout page.
4. Get a PDF receipt by email.
5. Come back any time to see past gifts and manage regular ones.
